One day Akbar along with his two sons went to bathe in the river. Birbal was also with them.
Before entering the river the king and his sons took off their clothes. They gave the clothes to Birbal and asked him to hold the clothes till they had their bath.
Birbal was thus left standing on the bank of the river. He had their clothes on his shoulder.
The king was in a good, humour. He felt like teasing Birbal. So he remarked "Birbal you are reminding me of a washerman's donkey with a load of clothes".
At once Birbal retorted "yes, but there is a slight difference. In this case of not carrying the load of one donkey but of three donkeys.
This answer left the king speechless.
Make a guess who these donkeys were?
